Mod Gearman is a way of distributing Nagios checks to other servers and therefore allows you to scale your Nagios deployments. Mod Gearman is split into two components, a Job Server and Workers. You can run both components on the one server if so desired. Also, check out the Queues page out as it explains how queues work and how you can dedicate workers to specific queues.
